For Candidates in Indiana who have Passed the Uniform CPA Exam
Experience Requirement
In order to hold a CPA license in the State of Indiana, applicants must complete a minimum of two years work experience. This work experience does not need to be directly under a licensed CPA, but a licensed CPA is require to sign off on the documents that verify the experience.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must submit a two-part Accountancy Application to the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.
There is no fee to apply, however there will be a fee when a candidate’s application is accepted and licensure is granted.
The licensing fee structure in Indiana is set up as follows:
- Year one – $85
- Year two – $60
- Year three – $35
Continuing Professional Education Requirements
CPA licenses in Indiana must be renewed after three years. In order to be able to renew a license, a total of at least 120 CPE hours must be completed throughout the three-year period:
- A minimum of 20 of these hours can be completed in one year
- A minimum of 12 hours must be in auditing, accounting, or both
- A minimum of four hours must be in ethics
- A maximum of 60 of the total CPE hours may be earned via self study
